These were by far the coolest sight to see yet! Real Sea Lions in the open waters of the mouth to the Columbia River. We had to check out Astoria, OR before leaving this part of the country. Stopped by a pizza parlor for lunch and spoke with the waitress about "things to do." She told us about this museum and that... but then gazed out the big bay window and said, "oh, just go across the street and you can see the Sea Lions."
It's amazing how - to her, they were just an everyday ordinary thing - but to us, they were spectacular!
