I have been meaning to post about this little princess for quite some time now...
About one year ago I had a trip to the Emergency Room at Ft. Lewis. You all know how those long waits in the ER can be - and how I can't help but visit with people around me. Well, I was graced by the presence of "the Fox's" (minus the husband who is in the Coast Guard and was out to sea.) Angela (Mama Fox) and I got to talking and she began to share with me about how her daughter Hadley was, I believe at that time, in remission from brain tumors. She had told me how Hadley had been struggling since she was two with her tumors, surgery and chemotherapy. I felt a lot of compassion for her little girl, and it felt good to hear that she was in remission. I remember getting home that night and talking with Josh (he was home on R&R) about how thankful we need to be that we have our health and that our children have been healthy. Cancer is a scary thing and I always hate to hear how it has creeped into peoples lives.
Fast forward about three/four months... to when I started blogging. In my angst of trying to figure out how blogging worked I'd often compare my blog to "the next blog." One night I hit the "next blog" tab and began reading ... it was the Fox's! How ironic that I had found their blog?? You know some people just leave impressions on you that are hard to forget. And believe me, if you ever met Angela and her kiddo's you'd know quickly that they are amazing people!!
Shortly after I started following the Fox's blog, Hadley's tumors came back. Even though I had only met them that one time, I too felt devistated. I have them listed in my list of "Exploring." Right now they are facing probably the hardest thing a family could face. Hadley is not receiving treatment for her tumors. It would be too much for her body to tolerate. She has been recieving Hospice care for a while now. Her life will be much more pleasant without the surgeries and chemotherapies. She will be able to live out her days, comfortable in her own home with her family, in her own bed, being her "princess" self. Soon (no one knows when) they will have to let go of their little girl - if you can, please pray for them.
Thank you - God bless, Heidi

Thank you Heidi. You are such a sweet heart. Isn't it odd how people are led into our lives. I met my BFF (also a mom of a chronically ill little girl) in a parking lot while we were stationed in California, then we were stationed in Washington together. =)
Thank you for soliciting prayers on our behalf. Heaven knows we can use every last one.
I sure hope you and yours are doing well. =)
Angela
