First let me say... No, I did not advocate for Anna and Forest to stand upright on the piano bench and go to town on the tree. While they appear very still and cooperative in this picture, they were the exact opposite. Whenever I take on projects like these the kids always have their own way of helping me. Anna was very pleased with her ability to "tie" the branches of the tree. She thought the point was to twist every limb around itself. (More work for me - but, hey) And I was almost certain that Forest was going to fall off the bench and break a limb. It's a good thing that the tree isn't all that big because when I was messing with the fuses, the kids pulled the whole thing over and it hit the couch!!!
Secondly, notice that the top of the tree wasn't lit. Yeah. It was one of those deals where I couldn't find the bulb. Don't you love pre-lit trees! I dreaded having to do it, but I ended up buying a new string and after twisting, tangling, and falling off the piano bench myself (seriously), I managed to sorta make it look "right." Yikes!
