What to do, what to do...

NATCHITOCHES... pronounced, "NAKADISH" in these parts - has definetly earned a place in my favorite places to visit list. Talk about a "gem" of a city. We were hearing that there was a big Christmas light display, but let me tell you, big is a BIG understatement!!
I believe the town was founded in the early 1700's and hosts some of the most beautiful mansions. I also found out that the setting for the book/movie "Steal Magnolia's" was from there. It is about an hour drive from Ft. Polk - so I am officially "in love" and will probably go for several visits and quick getaways.
We had a great time doing a little shopping, eating, and sight seeing. We hung around for the firework display - which, to me, was almost as good as the Fourth of July show in Nashville - and then enjoyed a horse drawn carriage ride. We had pleasant weather, I sported a short sleeved blouse and felt just fine. The kids seemed to have lots of fun too. While, Forest loved the fireworks, Anna held her ears and hid her face in Josh's shoulder because she was "scarey!" - poor thing. She piped up afterwards when we made it onto the carriage ride.
I would love to be able to post some pictures, but since the move I haven't needed to recharge my camera - until now that is... so maybe if I can find the charger I'll post some pictures the next time I post, we'll see...
CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!
