For example...
Today is St. Patrick's Day.
We .... are not Irish.
In fact, I am German/Hungarian and hubby over there (the other end of the couch ... sprawled out like a true man) is English/Nomadic French... yes, the Nomadic is of high importance.
Anyway, we... are not Irish.
But, we have a young strapping lad who is GREEN in every aspect that there is. His name... is pretty much Green Green. His demeanor is as goofy as a young monkey living in the green jungle. He is pretty wild and, in horse terminology... a "GREEN" horse is wild. So, today... even though I had a pair of jeans and a green/white striped shirt laid out on his dresser for him to wear... when he came trotting down the stairs and announced he wanted to wear this to school...
.... I was not amazed. In fact, I was proud. He knew that today was "GRWEEN DAY!" at his school and probably woke up just as excited as he was on Christmas Day. Goodness gracious!
She's been sporting a PURPLE CAST for the past couple days now. Broken thumb. Thanks to the green somebody that lives here. An accident. And she would tell you perfectly, eyes to the ceiling, not missing a beat, "MY BROTHER WAS SLIDING DOWN THE STAIRS AND MY HAND WAS ON THE FLOOR AND HE LANDED ON IT AND MY FINGERS WERE LIKE THIS ...(palm face upwards, thumb flexed up)...AND IT BROKE." sigh... looking at you to see your reaction.
Please, please do not let her fool you. She spent the weekend riding bikes, hanging out at birthday parties, and jumping in a jump house with that same broken finger and didn't seem to mind a bit. We saw the MD on Monday to confirm that something was in fact broken and she was awarded her PURPLE CAST! Tah Dah!
Now, he really NEVER ceases to amaze me!
Like ... I mean, just look at his face!!! Is he laughing or crying? You'll never really know because he loves to play tricks. You know, like cut three teeth all at the same time (two weeks ago.) He can't stand for me to be out of his site. He can crawl now. Yes, crawl! I know!!! He is already showing his studiousness by beginning to pull books off the shelves and explore all the knobs on the stereo. (BTW, I don't do a lot of baby proofing, so if you come to my house and see cords, important papers, laptops, and various other things all within his reach... don't freak out.)
OK... where was I...
I can't really remember where I was going with any of this.
AND I
AM NOT
SURPRISED.

Your hubby there does have a wee bit of the Irish blood runnin' in his veins. My Grandmother his great grandmother was a blonde green eyed Irish lass-Maggie Moore. Way to go Forest on the green.
And Anna, I am so sorry bout your thumb, but glad it is better!
Caleb, you are just too cute like your siblings-and smart, too.
Love you guys-Grannie Annie
