We made our last HooRah trip up to Mt. Rainier this past weekend. It's so beautiful up there. Lots of camping and hiking - although we didn't do either, it was still nice to take the drive, enjoy the scenery, and get outdoors.

Well, actually our first stop was to the NorthWest Trek. A very neat park/refuge for wildlife. It's like a zoo, but without the parking and concession stands. You can ride a tram thru the whole park and view wild animals in their natural habitat. They are able to roam openly, no fences to keep the Elk from the Bison and such.I think that the moose was the coolest! It was actually a baby - anyone remember what they are called???
A. calf
Can you see the Elk?
In this picture they are obvious, but from a distance it was hard to tell what was antler vs. branches.
Anna liked the bears... They were in a different part of the park. I don't think it would be good for tourism if a grizzley bear decided to attack the tram...

And here we are at Paradise on Mt. Rainier. It is actually behind the guy taking the picture, but there was no possible way to get us and the mountain in a picture together. So what you're seeing are actually the surrounding cliffs.
If you look closely you can tell Anna and Forest were ready to close shop. But deep down inside they know they had fun. They got to see animals and play in snow on Mt. Rainier - and even had black berry pie at the Copper Creek Inn on the way home! Just like the t-shirt says: Life is Good!
